Malakshmi Borthakur

Malakshmi Borthakur is A Post Graduate in English Literature and Indian Classical Music, She is a short story writer, translator, and poetess writing in English, Hindi, and Assamese. 

Her poems often deal with human issues - love, life, pain, tears and the anguish that individuals suffer from within. Poetry is her passion and music is her pastime. 

She learned music under the tutelage of her husband, a renowned Classical Vocalist of Lucknow, Dr. Biju Kumar Bhagawati.  

Malakshmi had contributed to many national and international magazines and anthologies of repute. Her poems brought for her umpteen awards, accolades, and appreciation from authentic national and international literary agencies, like ‘ Nari Sagaar Samman’ by JMD Publications, New Delhi, India; ‘Hindi Sevi’ by Viswa Hindi Rachnakar Manch, New Delhi, India; ‘Pentasi B World Featured Poet 2018’ by Pentasi B World Friendship Poetry, Philippines; ‘Best Award’ by Global Fraternity of Poets, Gurugram, Haryana, India; ‘World Laureate in Literature 2018' and also  'World Poetic Star' Award 2019 by World Nations Writers' Union (WNWU), Kazakhstan. Also, she is one of the winners of India's most prestigious '7th Rabindranath Tagore Award - International English Poetry Contest 2018'.

She was recently awarded by the Founder of Motivational Stris Shiju H. Pallithazheth with the Silver Medal for her excellent contribution to Literature.
